X-TRA Contemporary Art Journal invites you to its first in-office event of the year! This special, intimate gathering marks the beginning of a new chapter for the publication in its brand new office, located at the historic Granada Buildings in Central LA. Join us for food, drinks, and conversation. We are particularly proud to introduce the first X-TRA Editorial Fellow, Allison Noelle Conner, chosen after a rigorous interview process of many worthy applicants. Throughout 2023, the new Fellow will embark on a year of sustained mentorship from X-TRA’s editors, and contribute their unique perspectives and ideas to the Editorial Board.

We will present a one-of-a-kind selection of our archives, curated by the staff, displaying rare print issues featuring Los Angeles artists and writers. Published since 1997, the X-TRA archive spans over 25 years and 93 issues, and you’re invited to peruse! With your increased support this past year, and your sustained commitments over the many years before, we have been able to provide artists and writers from myriad backgrounds and levels of experience with opportunities to expand and develop their voices.

Celebrate our new beginnings in our office and our beautiful courtyard, and mingle with the growing X-TRA team and community, including the Project X Foundation’s Board of Directors, members of our Advisory Council, X-TRA’s Editors, X-TRA’s contributing writers both from L.A. and in town for Frieze, and our staff.

February 17th, from 8 – 11 pm
