
Join us to celebrate the launch of the fall issue and the contributors, writers, editors, and artists who made the publication possible, Thursday, November 9th at 7pm. The issue features pieces by Kamikaze Jones, Rose Higham-Stainton, Sabrina Tarasoff, Anuradha Vikram, Bassem Saad, and a conversation between Shirley Tse and Alice Wang.
To mark this occasion, we have organized readings by artist Shirley Tse, X-TRA Editorial Board Member Ikechúkwú Onyewuenyi, X-TRA Editorial Fellow Allison Noelle Conner, and Artist Project contributor Mandy Harris Williams. Shirley Tse is an artist based in California. Her sculptures, installations, photographs, and text works have been included in exhibitions in the United States and abroad since 1994.
Ikechúkwú Onyewuenyi is a curator and writer based in Los Angeles. He’s also on the editorial board of X-TRA.
Allison Noelle Conner is an arts and culture writer based in Los Angeles.
Mandy Harris Williams is a multidisciplinary artist and culture worker from New York City, living in Los Angeles. Williams utilizes multimedia gestures to critique topics in Blackness, media, desirability privilege and the libidinal economy, and the state and status of information and intellect in popular culture. She is the Programming Director at the Feminist Center for Creative Work (formerly Women’s Center for Creative Work) in Los Angeles.
