My artist’s project, Clay baby spodomancy (2018), is a schema of a forthcoming performance based on a small porcelain divination object that my Oma gave to my mother, who in turn passed it on to me. After years of intending to make casts of the object but being unsure at what scale to do so, I finally came to the right decision.
Kaari Upson (born 1972, San Bernardino, CA) studied at the New York Studio School and received her BFA and MFA from California Institute of the Arts.
